How do you see the world around you? Do you see what others see, or do you see something different? One of the greatest challenges for photographers is discovering their unique vision... to create something different. By taking an in-depth look at your surroundings through light, perspective, design, and mood, you will discover a new viewpoint and gain more from your creative experience. The class goal is to unlock your photographic vision by helping you learn to observe, learn to imagine, and learn to express.
Each week's class will focus on one of the four elements; light, perspective, design, and mood. We will also discuss composition, different photographic techniques, including Black & White and Long Exposures, and understanding the camera as a creative tool. Students will be given an assignment to create four images on that week's topic and present them to the class for discussion. The critiques provide constructive feedback and encourage fellow students to share ideas to improve their image making. PDF handouts will also be provided on all topics discussed during the course.
This course is for photographers 18 years and older, of all levels who want to push their creative boundaries.
The class size will remain small, with a max of 7 people, to allow more individual attention.
